Apple Cake

A heavy flavorful cake with loads of apple flavor.


Units Scale
  1. 1/2 pound Butter (2 sticks)
  2. 1 1/2 cups Sugar
  3. 2 Eggs
  4. 3 cups Flour
  5. 2 Teaspoons Baking Soda
  6. 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
  7. 4 Tablespoons Water
  8. 1 cup Walnuts
  9. 4 Granny Smith Apples


  1. Peel apples and cut them into small 1/4 chunks.
  2. Melt butter.
  3. Mix dry ingredients.
  4. Mix wet ingredients minus water.
  5. Add dry ingredients to the wet. If you need more liquid to get the batter to blend properly, add water.
  6. Add walnuts
  7. Add apples
  8. Grease cake pan
  9. Add batter to cake pan
  10. Cook for one hour at 350 degrees


Cook at 350 degrees for one hour.

I love the walnuts in this cake. My wife, who is allergic to nuts, loves this cake without nuts, but to me, it’s a key ingredient. Also, I think granny smith apples make this cake. You can make it with any apple, but I recommend using the granny smith apples because of their sweet-tart flavor.
