Spaghetti and meatballs is one of my favorite things to make because I find them fun and I love eating them. This is my go-to order when I try a new Italian restaurant because I believe great chefs know how to make this properly. Just like when I try a new pizza joint, I tend to order a pepperoni pizza pie because that’s the best way to judge a pizza. Everyone has a different style on how to make this and how to make the sauce. I learned how to make meatballs one summer when I was at the Jersey shore the Italian biker guy who lived next door came over and taught me. I think the secret ingredient is the parmesan cheese in the balls.
One of my favorite movies of all time is Goodfellas. In the movie, Paulie uses a razor to slice the garlic super thin. If you try that, please let me know how it works. My preference would be to use garlic-infused olive oil. I think the garlic chunks adds a lot of flavor. Be sure to try this with my simple 4 ingredient tomato sauce recipe.
Are Italian Style Meatballs Made With Pork and Beef?
No. I’m not a fan of pork, and I learned to make Italian meatballs from a full-blooded Italian with just beef.

Notes
I like to put the meatballs in a dutch oven with heated tomato sauce and then start heating the boiling water for the spaghetti. This lets the sauce flavor the meatballs.
