Habanero Hot Sauce

Habanero Hot Sauce with Black Bean taquitos

A very spicy hot sauce that is great for tacos, chips, and dips.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  1. 8 Jalapenos
  2. 1/2 Habanero
  3. 2 Large Garlic Cloves
  4. 2 Teaspoons Salt
  5. 1 Teaspoon of Black Pepper
  6. 1/2 cup Water

Instructions

  1. Cook pepper in a pot for 30 minutes until fully cooked and soft.
  2. Start by adding garlic to a food processor and pulverize.
  3. Remove stems and add peppers. Only use half of the Habanero. Pulverize until it’s liquified.
  4. Add salt, pepper, and water. A few more pulses of the food processor to mix it all up and blend the water.
  5. Chill and serve.

Notes

Gloves are recommended, and be sure to wash your hands well before touching your eyes or using the restroom.

Only use half of the habanero. If you use the entire habanero, it will be too spicy to have any flavor and probably hurt coming out.

I have a mini food processor that I have had for over 15 years, and they still sell the same model for about $20.

Another drawback is this doesn’t stay fresh long. I have tried making this with vinegar, but it doesn’t taste the same. I wouldn’t use this after a week old.
